September 14, 2020Restech Announces French Distribution Agreement with Larylab® Technologies
Restech (Houston, TX, USA) announces Larylab® Technologies as our distribution partner for France. The Larylab team combines clinical excellence, practical experience in a clinical setting, and technical expertise with a history of commercial success in bringing global products to the French marketplace.
Maya Hallay-Dufour, Vocologist, Founder and Principal of Larylab commented “LPR is the subject of frequent discussions during scientific meetings in France. Several pathologies are correlated with it. ENTs, laryngologists, and phoniatricians in France are faced with the limits of available reflux examinations, they are depending on gastroenterologists’ diagnosis, where, in several cases they do not find an objective explanation for the symptoms which are nevertheless observed. Being aware of the need for a simple, fast and effective, objective test for LPR, Larylab met with Restech after studying their published clinical studies and having consulted a panel of French and European key opinion leaders in laryngology. French KOL practitioners all encouraged the introduction of Restech in France, as a long-awaited solution for the best care of their patients with an objective evaluation of LPR.”
Restech’s Dx-pH System for reflux diagnosis employs patented, proprietary sensor technology which measures aerosolized as well as liquid pH levels. It is the only pH monitor that can objectively measure refluxate in the upper airway, providing up to 48 hours of continuous assessment of the reflux exposure propagating patient symptoms. Using detailed data from the study report, clinicians are able to assess acid and alkaline levels and more precisely treat reflux disorders.
Larylab will provide an introduction to, expert training on, and generalized support of Restech’s unique pH sensor technology to the medical community in France.
Thomas Ball, VP of Clinical Affairs for Restech said, “As LPR and reflux discussions are increasing in France with each successive year, it is a great honor to have the opportunity to help physicians and patients with another diagnostic pathway. Larylab founder Maya Hallay-Dufour gained clinical knowledge of the Restech pH test in Luxembourg and Belgium, where her expertise was key to successfully expanding patient diagnosis into new practices.”
Debra Krahel, CEO of Restech states “Larylab is an ideal partner for our reflux diagnostic solutions. CEO and managing director, Maya Hallay-Dufour, comes with an impressive clinical background that is critical in supporting the education and implementation of this technology into clinical practice. We are excited to put our technology in the hands of premier physicians and clinicians in France.”
About Restech
Restech, formed in 2003 is based in Houston, Texas. We believe there is a better way to manage reflux. When world-renowned physicians came to us looking for a pH sensor that works outside of the esophagus, our engineering team accepted the challenge. We quickly developed and launched the first real-time sensor that could function accurately in a non-liquid environment. Since then, we’ve been on a mission to find a new way to approach reflux, ensuring we understand the ins and outs of the disease state and the industry. Although it is highly complex, we are passionate about bringing simple, effective reflux solutions to patients and clinicians around the world. Our rapid growth reflects our dedication and passion–developing and seeking out new products across the reflux diagnostic and therapeutic continuum from surgical to home health.
